Individuals identified for auditing must provide written evidence of reported CPE activities that meet criteria for the specific reported CPE category.
Please remember to retain all proof of credits earned throughout the CPE certificate one year cycle as VGI may require full verification of earned CPE's. All VGI Cert holders will be expected to provide evidence that they have met their annual CPE requirements if asked to do so.
To ensure that VGI certificate professionals are meeting CPE policies, VGI may, at any time audit the validity of submitted CPE's for any CPE records within a certificate holder's cycle. In the event an audit request has been issued against one or more CPE cycle records, the recipient will have 30 days to submit required documentation to validate CPE activities. Instructions for audit compliance will accompany the audit request. In order to stay in certificate compliance, retain all proof of credit earned throughout the CPE one-year certificate cycle.
Documentation should be in the form of a letter, certificate of completion, attendance roster, verification of attendance document or other independent attestation of completion. At a minimum, each record should include the name of the attendee, name of the sponsoring organization, activity title, activity description, activity date, and the number of CPE hours awarded or claimed.
Failure to meet audit requirements will result in the loss of awarded CPE credits for the Audited CPE records. If a certified professional fails more than two audits in a cycle period, the certificate specific to the audit failure will be revoked.
